18th International Congress on Palliative Care

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DEADLINE: August 1, 2010

 

Dear Colleague,

You are invited to attend the 18th International Congress on Palliative Care, to be held October 5-8, 2010, at the Palais des Congres in Montreal, Canada.  The purpose of this email is to remind you that the deadline to register at the preferential early bird rate is next week (August 1st) as is the deadline to submit proposals for artworks.

 

Presented by the Palliative Care Division of the Departments of Medicine and Oncology of McGill University since 1976, this biennial Congress has earned its well-deserved reputation of being one of the world's preeminent gatherings of palliative care professionals and others with an interest in the field.

Call for Artworks - Deadline to apply: July 30, 2010

To celebrate art as a life-affirming activity, this year's congress will feature the artistic expression of all interested caregivers in a public display for viewing throughout the congress. All types of visual artistic expression (photo, collage, painting, sculpture, etc) are welcome. Please click here for details.

 

Student Section: Students (bachelors, masters and doctoral students, and postdoctoral fellows) are invited to register at special discounted rates.  Take advantage of a great opportunity to meet colleagues in palliative care who share common interests, and to establish networks for possible future research and clinical collaborations. for Palliative Care Volunteers: Palliative Care volunteers will find many sessions to interest them this year, particularly on the Friday. To name a few: the plenary address by Baroness Julia Neuberger, Member of the House of Lords and the UK Government's champion of volunteering, the plenary session "Volunteerism Is a Core Value for Palliative Care", the workshop "Access to Palliative Care as a Human Right", and International perspectives on the role of volunteers in Palliative Care.  Special one-day registration fee of $70 for volunteers to attend the Congress on Friday, October 8.
