Improving Quality in End of Life Care

A Workshop for Allied Health Professionals

3 July 2008

St Christopher's Hospice, London

This is a study day that explores advancements across the spectrum of
Allied Health Professions.  Through a series of workshops, themes core
to end of life care will be addressed. These will include -
* maximizing non-pharmacological control of pain
* maintaining communication and function through the use of assistive
technology
* looking at practical and ethical issues in the management of dysphagia
* minimising the effects of fatigue within the psychological impact of
disability at the end of life.
With contributions from AHP specialists, the day will appeal to
physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language
therapists and aims to challenge AHPs to continue to improve  upon
quality in our joint contribution to end of life care.
